This watch, oh boy, it’s somethin’ else. It’s called a CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” Classic Style. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, it kinda is. But it ain’t real gold, just a copy, but a real good one. That’s what matters to me. I ain’t got no money for the real thing, anyway.
This here watch, it’s got a picture of the moon on it. Not the whole moon, just a part. They call it the “dark side.” Ain’t never seen that side myself, but they say it’s real. They got all these fancy words for it. “Skeletonized dial,” they say. Means you can see all the little thingamajigs inside. Them little gears and wheels, all movin’ around. Like a little city in there, always workin’.
They say this watch is ’bout some fellas went to the moon. Apollo 8, they call it. Musta been a long time ago. Fifty years, maybe more. This watch, it’s like a remember-thing for that. They call it a “tribute.” Like a present, but not really. Just a way to remember somethin’ important. These men went in a rocket. Big ol’ thing, shootin’ fire out the back. They went all the way ’round the moon. First ones to do it, they say.
Now, this watch, it’s black. Real black. Like the night sky when there ain’t no moon at all. They say it’s made of some fancy stuff. “Ceramic,” I think they call it. Not like the plates my grandma used to have. This stuff is strong. Won’t break easy, they say. That’s good, ’cause I’m always bangin’ my hands on things. This CopyOMEGA, it can take a lickin’.

This one, it’s a good copy. Looks just like the real thing. Only folks who know ’bout watches can tell the difference. Most people, they just see a nice watch. They just know the name: OMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8.
I wear this watch all the time. To the market, to church, even to work in the garden. It’s a good watch. Tough, like me. And it’s got a story. A story ’bout them brave fellas who went to the moon. Makes me feel good, wearin’ it. Like I got a little piece of history on my wrist.
Some folks, they like to collect these Speedmaster Moonwatch things. They say they’re worth a lot of money. Especially the old ones. “Vintage,” they call ’em. Like old wine. Gets better with age, they say. This one ain’t vintage. It’s new. But it’s still a good watch. And it looks just like them old ones.
They say this OMEGA watch, the real one, it’s got a special number inside. 3869, maybe 3861, somethin’ like that. Means somethin’ to the watch folks. Don’t mean nothin’ to me. All I know is, it’s a good watch. And it looks good on my wrist. And this one is a copy, so it won’t have the number. But who cares, it still looks good.

But a copy, of course. Can’t afford the real one. This copy is good enough for anyone. You won’t know the difference, I tell ya. It’s all the same.
I heard they made this watch in 2018. That’s when they started sellin’ it, I think. To remember that Apollo 8 trip. That was 50 years after those men went to the moon. Time sure does fly. This watch, it helps me remember. Remember them men. Remember the moon. And to look at my wrist and know what time it is. That’s important, too. I wear this Dark Side of the Moon watch, and it makes me happy. That’s all you can ask for, right?
I ain’t no expert on watches. Just know what I like. And I like this one. It is a good one for sure. This Apollo 8 one. It’s a good copy. A real good copy. I saw one in a shop once. Asked how much. Nearly fainted! This one, much better price. Same look. Same feel. Good enough for me. Good enough for anyone, I reckon. This is the best watch, a real classic.
