Alright, guys, let’s talk about my latest project. I tried my hand at remaking the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. Yeah, that fancy bag from that French luxury brand, you know, the one started by Yves Saint Laurent and his buddy Pierre Bergé back in ’61. Apparently, it’s now just called Saint Laurent.
I saw this bag online, and I thought, “Why not?” I mean, why spend all that money when you can just make one yourself, right? So, I started by looking everywhere for information about this bag. I looked through all the online stores, read some articles, and even checked out a few forums where people were talking about it. It looked like a lot of people liked the bag, but it was super expensive.

Then came the hard part – actually making the bag. I cut the leather according to the measurements I had figured out from the pictures. I sewed the pieces together, which took forever, let me tell you. My fingers were sore, and I messed up a few times, but I kept going.
I managed to get the main body of the bag together, and then I added the flap and the strap. The buckle was a bit tricky to attach, but I figured it out eventually. I even tried to add a little lining inside, just like the real one, to make it look a bit more professional.
After many hours of work, I finally finished it! It wasn’t perfect, of course. There were a few rough edges and some stitching that could have been neater, but overall, I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It looked a lot like the original, at least from a distance.

Honestly, it was a fun project, but a lot of work. Would I do it again? Maybe, but not anytime soon. If you’re thinking of trying something similar, just be prepared to spend a lot of time and effort. And remember, it’s not about making a perfect replica, but about the process and the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands.
