This Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, that’s a mouthful, ain’t it? It’s one of them fancy watches, cost more than my old cow Bessie did, that’s for sure. They say it’s a “classic style”. Well, I guess if you like that kinda thing. Me, I just need to know what time it is to feed the chickens.

They say this Jaeger-LeCoultre thing, this Reverso, it’s got a blue face. Shiny blue, like that one beetle I saw last summer down by the creek. And gold, they say. Pink gold. What in tarnation is pink gold? Gold is gold, ain’t it? Sounds like somethin’ them city folk would come up with. This is the Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph Classic Style, you know.

This here watch, it flips. Yeah, you heard me right. The whole dang face flips over. They say it’s to protect it. From what, I don’t know. Maybe from gettin’ scratched up when you’re wranglin’ hogs? Seems a bit much to me. My old watch, the one I got from the Sears catalog, it never needed no flippin’.

  • This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute, they call it.
  • It’s got a newfangled movement.
  • Whatever that is.
  • They say it’s like the first Reverso.
  • From way back when.

They got different kinds, too. One’s made of steel, with a blue-grey face. Like the sky before a storm, I reckon. The other, more gold. Seems they can’t get enough of that gold. This is Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph.

And get this, they say it’s a “chronograph”. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them science fiction pictures. Apparently, it’s got somethin’ to do with timin’ things. Like I said, I just need to know when to feed the chickens. And maybe when to put the pie in the oven. Ain’t no need for fancy timin’ for that.

They say these watches are for “mature” people. Well, I’ve been mature for a good long while now, and I ain’t never needed no flippin’ watch to tell me that. And they say it goes with denim and sneakers. Can you imagine? Wearin’ a watch that costs more than your house with your old work jeans? These city folk, I swear.

This Reverso thing, they say it’s a sports watch. A sports watch! What sport you gonna play with a watch like that? Croquet? Seems to me like you’d be too worried about scratchin’ it up to do any real sportin’. They say it’s from 1931. That’s older than my grandpa! No wonder it looks like it belongs in a museum.

They say people put their names on the back. Their special messages. Like carving your initials in a tree, I suppose. But on a watch that costs a fortune. Back in my day, you were lucky if you got your name on your lunch pail. This is Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph Classic Style. Just remember.

This fella, Chauvot, he made this watch. Back in ’31. Said it was 38 somethin’ long and 24 somethin’ wide. Don’t mean nothin’ to me. All I know is, it’s probably too big for my wrist. They also released a gold one. Now, I reckon I could get behind a gold watch, but not one that flips and tells you the phases of the moon and whatnot.

  • They say it’s $8,900.
  • For a watch!
  • That’s more than my whole darn farm cost!
  • These city slickers don’t know what money is.

This whole Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph thing, it’s a mystery to me. Why you’d need such a fancy thing to tell the time is beyond me. But I guess if you got money to burn, and you like flippin’ your watch around, then this is the watch for you. Me, I’ll stick with my old reliable. It might not be fancy, but it tells the time just fine. And that’s all that matters in the end, ain’t it?

You know, the more I think about it, this Imitation Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph Classic Style sounds like a whole lotta fuss for somethin’ simple. They call it a “classic style.” Well, maybe it is. But my style is keepin’ things simple. And that’s a style that never goes out of fashion, no matter what them fancy watchmakers say. I mean it is hard to fit it into a rectangular, right? I don’t like that shape, anyway.
