Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole high imitation Rolex thing. You know, those No-Date Black Submariners? Yeah, those. The ones without the date on ’em. They’re everywhere these days, and honestly, it’s a bit of a headache. I wanted to get in on this, see what the fuss was all about.
First, I started looking around, trying to figure out where to even get one of these things. You hear all sorts of stories, you know? People getting ripped off, buying junk. I didn’t want that to be me. I did some digging, and man, there are a lot of places selling them. It’s like a minefield. So many different models, different styles, some with the date window, some without. I spent a good chunk of time just trying to wrap my head around it all. Then the problem became, how the heck was I supposed to know which ones were any good?

I started asking around, talking to people who’d bought them, reading those “how to spot a fake Rolex” guides – which, by the way, are a dime a dozen. Some folks told me to check out this place, others told me to avoid that place. I even tried looking at photos of watches, comparing them to the real deal. Trying to spot differences. The shine, the color, how they feel, you name it. I felt like I was going crazy. I made some notes to keep track of what people were saying.
Trying my luck
Finally, I decided to just go for it. I picked a place that seemed okay, it was a specialty store, you know, not just some random spot. They had a bunch of different high imitation Rolexes, not just the Submariner, but also the GMT-Master II, the Sea-Dweller. And they had a couple of Omega Seamasters, too. I went with the No-Date Black Submariner, 42mm one I guess. It looked shiny, it was black, and it felt heavy in my hand. The dealer, he seemed like a nice guy. He let me look at it, try it on, all that stuff. So, I took a deep breath, and I bought it.
Now, I’m wearing it, showing it off a bit. It’s a nice looking watch, I gotta say. But man, this whole experience? It’s been something. It’s like a whole world of its own, these high imitation watches. I definitely learned a lot. The biggest thing being that you gotta be careful. There’s a lot of junk out there, a lot of people trying to make a quick buck.
But yeah, that’s my story. I got a high imitation Rolex No-Date Black Submariner. It’s shiny, it’s black, and so far, it’s keeping time. Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s a lot of work, though.
