After many attempts, I finally had something that resembled the OMEGA X-33 Marstimer. It wasn’t perfect, not even close. But it was mine. And it felt pretty darn good to hold something I made with my own two hands, something inspired by such a high-tech, expensive watch.

Now, I’m not saying everyone should go out and try to make their own CopyOMEGA watch. And this original OMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 I heard some folks say it is a good investment. Like puttin’ your money in the bank, but better. And some folks say “You gotta find a good Specialty Store, one that knows what they’re doin’. Don’t just go buyin’ from any old place. In particular, the prices for Omega and Hamilton watches are among the cheapest in Japan.” I don’t know if is it true. But if you’re into watches, and you like a good project, it’s something to think about.

This whole experience taught me a lot. About watches, about patience, about the joy of creating something from scratch. It’s not about having a perfect replica. It’s about the journey, the process, the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
