This here Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001, it’s a real fancy watch, ain’t it? I heard it’s a remake, like they made it new again, but looking like the old ones. They call it “official flagship store,” which I reckon means it’s the real deal, straight from the folks who make ’em.
Now, I don’t know much ’bout these fancy things, but I seen pictures. This one, the 5227R-001, it’s got that shiny rose gold, all pretty and sparkly. Looks like somethin’ a queen would wear, or maybe one of them rich folks in the city. It is new for 2024, you know, the newest style for the rich guys.
- Rose gold, shiny like a new penny
- Automatic, winds itself up, no need to crank it
- Brand new, right outta the box, 2024 model
They say these Calatrava watches, they been around a long time. Since way back in 1932, if you can believe it. This is what I heard about it, you know. That’s longer than I been alive, and I’m no spring chicken! They was first called Ref. 96. Sounds like some kinda secret code, don’t it? And this here 5227R-001, it’s part of that family, I guess. Some family, all fancy and expensive.
And the name, Calatrava, where’d that come from? Well, sir, they say it’s from some old group of knights, the Order of Calatrava. Real important folks, I reckon, back in the old days. Knights and kings and all that. I know nothing about those knights, but they said it is a Christian something. Must be famous if it has a watch named after it, huh?
This watch, it’s got a whole bunch of little parts inside, more than 200, they say! Tiny little things, all workin’ together to make it tick. And 30 jewels, can you imagine? Not like the ones on a necklace, but special jewels just for watches. This 5227R-001, it’s a real piece of work, that’s for sure. I know it is expensive. But how much it is? I can’t remember it. You can search the price on your phone, you know.
They say this one’s got a diameter of 27 mm, and it’s thin, only 3.3 mm. Now, I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds small and delicate. Like a little bird’s egg, but way more expensive. And that Patek Philippe name, that’s the company that makes it. Big company, been around forever, makin’ these fancy watches. That family, they said it is called the Stern. I know nothing about them. They must be rich if they can do this for a living, huh?
This 5227R-001, it’s got that “ivory lacquered” dial. Sounds like somethin’ you’d put on your fingernails, but it’s the face of the watch. And it’s got gold hands, they say, shaped like, what was it? Dauphine? Sounds French. And a little window that shows the date, right there at 3 o’clock. Handy, I suppose, if you can afford a watch like this, you probably got folks to remind you what day it is.
Patek Philippe 5227R-001 is powered by a 324 movement, they call it. And it is self-winding. That means you don’t have to wind it up yourself. It does it on its own, just by you movin’ around. Pretty clever, huh? Those city folks, they think of everything.
They say this 5227R-001 is a masterpiece. Two of ’em, actually, ’cause it’s a Calatrava and a Patek Philippe, all rolled into one. I don’t know ’bout masterpieces, but it sure is somethin’ to look at. Shiny and gold and full of tiny little parts. Must be worth a fortune, I reckon. Not somethin’ you’d wear to the field, that’s for sure!
I ain’t never seen one of these up close, but I hear they’re real popular. ‘Specially the old ones, the vintage ones, they call ’em. Folks collect ’em, like stamps or coins, but way more expensive. I guess if you got the money, why not? This Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001, it’s a new one, but it’s got that old-timey look. Maybe that’s why folks like it so much.
- Lots of little parts, over 200!
- Jewels inside, 30 of ’em
- Self-winding, no need to crank
- Ivory colored face, with gold hands
- Date window at 3 o’clock
I don’t know what else to say about this here watch. It is about Patek Philippe Calatrava 5227R-001. It’s a fancy thing, that’s for sure. Somethin’ to dream about, maybe. But for now, I’ll just stick to my old watch. It tells the time just fine, and it don’t cost a king’s ransom. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ special, somethin’ to show off, well, this Patek Philippe 5227R-001 might just be the ticket. Just make sure you got deep pockets, ’cause it ain’t gonna be cheap!
