Okay, so I’ve been wanting a fancy bag for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. I decided to remake a Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag, just like the ones in the official flagship store. Let me tell you, it was a journey.
First, I had to do some recon. I spent hours online, looking at pictures, you know, really getting a feel for the bag. It was not my way to buy it from an official store, so I decided to try my hand at remaking one myself.
I gathered my materials. Now, I’m no expert, but I did my best to find stuff that looked and felt like the real deal. It was a real challenge finding the right leather and hardware, let me tell you.
The Process
- I started by carefully taking apart an old bag I didn’t use anymore, just to get a sense of how bags are constructed. Then, I sketched out the design of the Prada bag, making sure to get all the details just right. It was like putting together a puzzle!
- Next, I cut out the pieces of leather, following the pattern I’d created. This was nerve-wracking! One wrong cut and you’ve ruined the whole thing. There are different kinds of bags, such as Totes, Mini bags, and so on. I carefully chose each part of my materials.
- Then came the sewing. Oh boy, the sewing. Let’s just say my fingers were sore after this. But slowly but surely, the bag started to take shape. It was so satisfying to see it come together.
- Finally, I added the hardware – the zippers, the buckles, all that shiny stuff. This was the finishing touch that really made the bag look legit.
And there you have it! My very own, handmade Small Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition Bag. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty darn proud of it. It looks surprisingly similar to the real thing, if I do say so myself. Plus, I saved a ton of money!
